Local Access to Your Voice Service
Get things working on the same Wi-Fi or LAN first — this is the most recommended first-stage advanced integration.
Why Local Access Is Recommended First
If you just want to get enhanced audiobooks working, the most recommended approach is to start with local access:
- Your local voice service runs on your computer or home server
- Your phone and the host are on the same local network
- You do not need to expose anything to the public internet
This is the easiest way to troubleshoot and is the best fit for a first integration.
Integration Steps
- Start the Web UI or HTTP service of your local voice service.
- Confirm your phone can reach the host IP, for example
http://192.168.1.119:50000/. - Fill in the remote address on the "AI Model Management" screen in NovelPlayer.
- Return to the reading screen or ADV screen and trigger voice generation.
Network Requirements
- The service must not listen only on
127.0.0.1, otherwise your phone cannot reach it. - The phone and the host must be on a mutually reachable network; guest Wi-Fi often blocks LAN device access.
